October coincides with the end of the summer season. At least according to customs. Is it true? Not for those who like to dive into the sea close to the hot springs of Maronti, between a sauna and another; or dive into pools of warm salty water, in the rocky basins of Sorgeto, even if it rains.

And there always is someone who goes to the shoreline in Citara and San Francesco, or to Mandra, when, at midday, the warmth and light form a mix that surrounds body and soul. And there are perfect days to feel on holiday wedged between forests and landscapes outlined by terracing welcoming cultivated fields, mile-stone walls and hill districts. This is where lurks the appearance of the oldest identity of the island of Ischia, multifaceted by definition and vocation; also on the border of scented cellars of fresh must, there where the harvest is still in progress because - noosing into an always different geomorphology - it turns out that grapes never complete their maturation in the same way, even in close vineyards. There is a layered diversity in the atmosphere that is full of surprises: you feel it when you choose to do a soft walk and do some shopping, meeting groups of cyclists, runners or athletes who train along the waterfront up to challenge dusk. The carnet of events shrinks, the congressual season is back, but in the evening we meet for a national theater festival not to be missed, distributed in every weekend for two months. As said, as usual, and in spite of the calendar it will not be easy ... to get bored.
