The crib is an island

"The crib is an island" is the title of a project that in 2008 I realized for Pasquale Di Massa, exemplary craftsman master, and the 'Amici del Presepe' association. Now the intuition is reincarnated to summarize the corpus of the last issue of 2019 of Ischia News, already projected at spring 2020 - "Venti Venti" - which will be a party ... numerological and much more. We remain tuned, thanks to the newspaper, with the creative work that raises an arc-en-ciel, a solid rainbow on which to rest the steps: they link the calendar and the seasons to the flow of the crib art, and to the awareness of communicating. Thus an invaluable sense of global experience is released. It is here that we attacked the "post-it" hopes, secular and new ideals that go beyond the geographical and chronological boundaries, if there are any, of the Christmas event with its idealized contours; and they go beyond the limits of the ichitanità with its coastal, elusive, alive and true risacche. We admire the warm and kaleidoscopic dioramas with miniature figures and landscapes that reinterpret true insularity: they give us back the ineffable substance of the island that exists. And then, next, here is the everyday life that we transfigure, telling and loving it, between revelations and flashes, photographs "of time" and "from" time, in the intersection of metaphors, current events and future, caves and comets, symbology and commitment to share, cultural. Our own.
