"Stopping the image" in photographic language means capturing the instant of time forever or for an infinite time from a certain moment.
The Forian towers impressed by the lens, in black and white, by Vittorio Sciosia stop some moments of Mediterranean architecture and represent not only the link between the cultural good and history, but constitute mute and firm testimonies of the past and of human doing, having the value of civilization.
The book sees the towers of the 16th century as protagonists in the Forean defense system through the cultural event promoted by the Superintendency for the architectural, landscape, historical, artistic and ethno-anthropological heritage of Naples and the province, by the Regional Directorate for Cultural Heritage and the Municipality of Forio.
