September the harvest month, seen through the eyes and experience of a real Ischian man and this year, the festival is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy on Ischia, remembering the presence of Giuseppe Garbaldi in Casamicciola Terme during the summer of 1864. A month of festivities, organized by the company of Ischia, Casamicciola and Lacco Ameno. The tradition concerns the solemn celebration of Saint John Joseph of the Cross, Mount St. Mary and St. Michael the Archangel, respectively in Ischia Ponte, Forio and Sant’Angelo. September also marks the return of the important Vinischia event in Ischia Ponte, with many events on the calendar. The culture focuses on Guevara's Tower, known as Michelangelo’s tower, and the green stone sculptures by local artisans. How not to speak of Spa in Ischia, with a focus on the Thermal Park Poseidon Gardens in Forio and Gondola in Maronti. A lot of news over the previous month, with cultural, gastronomic and natural interests, with the tried and tested bilingual formula, Italian – English, that will accompany us, monthly, throughout 2011.
